On Saturday, February 19th the IL Jets joined with over 1100 athletes from across the country to participate in the 2010 AAU Northern Indoor Championships, held in Bloomington, IL at Wesleyan University. The team, at this point, had participated in approximately 4 youth and open indoor track and field events. The IL Jets practiced 4 days a week beginning in October 2009.

Well, the dedication and determination of this small program certainly paid off at the Indoor national event! Under the leadership and coaching of the IL Jets program, seven athletes brought home 14 total national indoor medals. This is no small accomplishment for a large team, but for the IL Jets this is tremendous. The athletes range in age from 7 to 16 and each athlete had to place in the top 8 of the country in order to make it to the national podium. Some of the athletes had to advance to final rounds in order to place in the top ranks.
