Trevor Dunbar cruised to victory in the two-mile run at the Nike Outdoor Nationals this evening in North Carolina.

Dunbar covered the eight-lap race in 8 minutes, 49.79 seconds, six seconds ahead of runner-up finisher Zachary Wills, of Ohio.

Dunbar’s time is the fastest time in the nation and a personal best.

Earlier this season, he covered the 3,200 in 8:51.50.

Dunbar pulled away from a pack of runners with two laps left and cruised to victory.
