Hello Track and Field Fans In just 20 days, we’ll be heading to Ypsilanti (Detroit) to watch the World Youth Trials and select our 2009 World Youth Championships Team! This meet is creating a lot of buzz and we’re excited to see the results of this inaugural event. The Local Organizing Committee is doing a great job getting the last bit of items ready for this great meet. Just somethings to remember.
Drug Testing
If you have any conditions that require the use of medications you should check the status of that medication by logging onto www.usada.org/dro . Asthma, ADHD, diabetes are common examples of conditions that require the use prohibited medications for treatment. If your medication is prohibited, you and your family doctor will need to complete paperwork in order to be able to use the medication at the World Youth Championships. Athletes need to contact Melissa Beasley at USATF, 317-713-4650 to request the appropriate applications for your family physician to complete immediately! Failure to adhere to these procedures could jeopardize your opportunity to compete on the World Youth Championships Team.
Passports Athletes being considered for team selection to compete in Bressanone, Italy at the IAAF World Youth Championships must obtain a passport and present it to the team processing staff by 8pm Wednesday July 1, 2009. More information on acquiring a passport can be found by visiting http://travel.state.gov.
