I started to run track before it was popular for girls, joining the boys track team in junior high. The boys track coach had seen me sprint in physical education and talked me into going out for the team. This was before title IX so I had to get permission from the boys head coaches before I could compete. At first they laughed and just humored me by saying yes. When I started to beat their boys, they tried to change their minds and not let me compete. I ran on a track scholarship at Michigan State.

Degree Sport Psychology Coached at Angelo State University, San Angelo, TX -Head Women's Coach Coached at Moorhead State University, Moorhead, MN - Asst Jump and Hurdle Coach Currently at North Dakota State University since 1984, Asst Men and Women's Jump coach Have coached numerous 6 foot female high jumpers and 7 foot plus male high jumpers.
